Cryptocurrency is becoming a big part of society, and as such, it should come as no surprise that there are many songs being written about the technology. But is anyone famous singing them?

It may surprise you to discover that not only does Eminem have a song about crypto, but so does the rapper Takeoff. Read on to discover all 11 songs about crypto

1. Not Alike by Eminem

So, this song about crypto got our top spot solely because Eminem is the most famous of all the singers listed. That being said, his references to crypto in Not Alike are fewer than in other songs on the list. Eminem does mention Bitcoin specifically, stating that people are buying it over fiat. While we love this tune for many reasons, especially the Bitcoin reference, we do with Eminem had mentioned more than just Bitcoin, but then again, this was 2018, so fair enough.

2. Blockchain by Money Man

A song with a surprising 10 million views on YouTube, this rap embodies everything to do with cryptocurrency. Not only does he list all of the platforms you can use to invest, like Coinbase, but he also discusses specific cryptocurrencies by name (as well as all the things he plans to buy!) It’s a short song, but it covers a lot of crypto topics!

3. Crypto by Takeoff and The Rich Kid

For some reason, rappers seem to sing about crypto more than any other genre of singers, and we suspect it has something to do with the rawness of rap songs—people are willing to listen to topics they maybe wouldn’t be willing to listen to in a pop song. Regardless, Takeoff was fairly famous before his untimely death, and though his song Crypto never hit the top charts, it talks a lot about the crypto bubble and how one feels while investing.

4. Bitcoin Billionaire by Remy

More on the comedic side, this next song about crypto reminds us of the sound of The Lonely Island—the tune is catchy, more so than a traditional rap, but it is a good time. Of course, this song solely focuses on the popular side of crypto (what happens when you become a billionaire, specifically), so we wouldn’t consider it a must-listen to in terms of learning about crypto—but it is fun!

5. Congratulations (A Post Malone Parody) by Lil Bubble

Everyone knows the song Congratulations by Post Malone, and we absolutely love this parody made by Lil Bubble. Also, a rap, this song replaces the original lyrics with information about cryptocurrency, specifically how the singer feels when his mother calls to congratulate him after cryptocurrency experienced a spike.

6. Cryptocurrency by Kuami Eugene and Rotimi

We found this next song while researching for this article, but it turns out it is quite catchy! This is the first song on the list that is in a pop style over a rap style, though the singer still takes some inspiration from rap. The lyrics focus on how the singer was taken to the next level thanks to cryptocurrency, though it also discusses how women use him for his crypto. It’s an interesting song, and we really enjoyed the music video, so it is definitely worth checking out!

7. Crypto by Don Xhoni

This is another song we found while writing this article, and surprisingly, it has 24 million views—something we didn’t expect! This song is a rap, and starts out with a crypto chant, which is quite catchy. The song isn’t in English, and while there are a few words in French, further research reveals the rapper is from Kosovo and raps mostly in his native language of Albanian.

8. Straightenin by Migos

Migos is a hip-hop group, most famous for being the place where rapper Takeoff got his start. Because he’s already been on this list once, it should come as no surprise that he introduced his former group members to crypto. This song, rapped with Takeoff before his death, isn’t specifically about crypto, but it mentions it several times. Apparently, Takeoff was an investor himself and got his group members into it, too.

9. Crypto by Yo Gotti

If you haven’t noticed, it’s pretty easy to find songs about crypto just by searching the word crypto—as this seems to be what most rappers name their song on the topic. We specifically love this song by Yo Gotti, because it references Dogecoin—not in exact words, but he discusses crypto, followed by the question “I trust my dog but—” which indicates he is singing about Dogecoin. We especially love later in this song, when he raps about digital wallets. It’s a fun tune for crypto lovers, just not as upbeat as other songs on this list.

10. Old Town Road (Lil Nas X Parody) by Lil Bubble

Back on our list again is another parody banger by Lil Bubble. This time, he took Old Town Road by Lil Nas X, but instead of Old Town Road, he sings about “all-time lows.” We especially love how he starts the song, saying he will “ride my alts” to the “all-time low.” It's really a great and funny parody, even if it is about the sadness most investors experience when investing in alt coins.

11. HODL GANG by Chris Record

Last, but certainly not least, on our list of songs about crypto is HODL GANG by Chris Record. We would like to start by saying we appreciate that Chris took a moment to name his song uniquely. Beyond that, this song is a great way to learn about cryptocurrency vocabulary, and it even references Ethereum and Litecoin, which is awesome when most rappers name Bitcoin. We especially love the chorus where Chris sings how he’s going to be on the “hodl gang,” meaning he is going to keep holding on to his crypto no matter what comes—a message all cryptocurrency investors need to hear from time to time!
